ATTENTION ALL PROPERTY OWNERS:
The Town of Fort Edward has contracted with Washington County to do a full revaluation of the Town’s properties. GAR Appraisal Company has been hired to perform this project for our Town (they are also doing 5 other towns in the County). This project will entail the updating of all the property inventory (property information) for the entire Town as well as an update of the pictures on file. The company will verify the inventory with you at some point during the project. When you receive that information, please be sure to read it over carefully and make any corrections. This will be important information when the company begins the valuation portion of the project. You want to be sure that what you have at your property is correct so that the value of your property is determined correctly.
GAR will begin data collecting and picture taking the week of July 20. They should have appropriate identification on their vehicle or on their person. You may see a car stopped in front of your property for a few moments and you may see them taking photographs for the file. No one will be asking to come inside for data collecting. If you would like a more thorough review, you will need to contact the company directly and arrange for an appointment.
