During a routine inspection of the Canal Corporation-owned culvert pipe carrying Bond Creek under East Street in Fort Edward, it was discovered that it is in a deteriorated state and in need of rehabilitation. The project is currently in design, and is slated to begin in the fall of 2024.
As part of the design process, from Thursday, May 11 to Friday, May 12, the Canal Corporation will be investigating existing soil conditions around the site of the culvert and obtaining samples for laboratory testing. This activity will require closure of a travel lane on East Street for approximately 2 days (Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12), which will be marked with signage, cones, and flaggers.
